Kazan University hosts Mosaic of the Peoples Festival gala

The event occurred on November 12.

The concert started with a flag parade – over 40 countries were represented (overall, the festival was joined by over 7 thousand students from 104 countries). The participants were then addressed by Vice-Rector for Education Timirkhan Alishev and Vice-Rector for Social Work Arif Mezhvedilov.

Vice-Rector Alishev mentioned that the Republic of Tatarstan is currently a home to 19 thousand overseas students from 152 nations, of which 11 thousand from 104 countries are students of Kazan Federal University.

Vice-Rector Mezhvedilov noted that each year sees an increase in the number of international students who are very active in science, sports, cultural life, and other activities.

Among the nominations were Cuisines of the World, Weightlifting (kettlebells), Arm-wrestling, Checkers, Jenga, Sack Race, Gorodki, Jeopardy, and Quiz.
