Kazan University joins federal pilot project of student tourism
KFU is one of the fifteen universities partaking in the first wave.
Within the project, students of Russian universities can travel across Russia while staying at university dorms. Universities act as hosts and organize cultural events, tours, and youth events.
Director of the Department of Youth Policy of KFU Yuliya Vinogradova comments, “We are offering several packages starting from 15 July and ending on 15 August. Soon, a special portal about the program will be launched by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.” She adds that 100 students will be able to visit Kazan this year.
The Department has a dedicated call line for participants of the program. The travelers will be allocated rooms at the Universiade Village (two clients per room), and the payment will be as low as 100 rubles per night. Both the room expenses and the travel can be paid by students or their respective universities.
Among the places of interest included in the package are, of course, buildings of Kazan Federal University. Apart from that, the guests will be invited to be familiarized with various activities undertaken by the League of Students of Tatarstan, the Academy of Creative Youth of Tatarstan, and the University of Talents.
The package prices are also very modest. For instance, a major three-day tour including Kazan Kremlin, Kazan Federal University, the National Library of Tatarstan, museums, and suburban lakes costs only 1,870 rubles. A five-day package with more sightseeing starts from 2,394 rubles. Local student activists serve as tour guides.
As for KFU students themselves, they also plan to make trips around the nation. In particular, the most interesting cities listed by our students as desirable destinations are Rostov-on-Don (Southern Federal University), Vladikavkaz (Khetagurov North Ossetian State University), and Novgorod the Great (Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University).
