Kazan University-made perimeter security system to enter production

KFU and its industrial partner Radiopribor (Radio Devices) have agreed to produce the new vibration acoustics system, now officially called Phoenix.

One of the leading researchers of the project, Head of Prototyping of the Center for Digital Transformation Pavel Kolpakov comments, “Such systems do exist, but they are very complicated. Our system is different in that it’s automatically set up in two minutes. It can collect data and enter the security mode. The device is produced in three modifications. One is for individual housing, another is for small land plots, and the third is for industrial facilities.”

Phoenix is mounted on fences and can cover a perimeter up to 500 meters.

“You can increase or decrease the cover area if need be,” adds Kolpakov. “Based on a client’s preferences, the system can be supplemented with sound or light emitters to fend off intruders. The device can also be integrated with a video surveillance system. Phoenix is a waterproof and all-weather piece of equipment. Moreover, it can be submerged into the soil with no detriment to its functionality.”

Some local customers have expressed interest in testing Phoenix on their premises, “We have started installing the systems for some petroleum producers in Almetyevsk Municipal District. Apart from that, the Ministry of Defense of Russia has also shown interest.”

The interviewee says that students of the Institute of Physics took part in prototyping.
