Kazan University to open first master course in medicine

The course in public healthcare starts in 2022.

The supervising entity is the Department of Human Healthcare of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology.

“We are especially waiting for bachelor graduates in microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, and biophysics. They often work in hospitals as lab assistants but cannot become lab doctors without medical education. After this course, a person will receive a diploma in medical education,” says Timur Zefirov, Chair of the Department of Human Healthcare.

To begin a management career in healthcare, one must have a medical diploma. Previously, an aspiring individual would have spent six years in an educational institution to obtain such a qualification. But now, they will be able to only spend two years with the same results – that if, of course, they already have a first-level degree.

A first group of 15 students will be enrolled in 2022. The studies are fee-based and will be offered in Russian language.
