KFU joins Russian-African Network University consortium

The organization has united 12 institutions.

Apart from Kazan University, the other founders are Southern Federal University, Crimean Federal University, Astrakhan State Medical University, Russian State Hydrometeorological University, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Kosygin University, Russian State Geological Prospecting University, Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow State University of Design and Technology, Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, and the Institute of Biology of Southern Seas (Russian Academy of Sciences).

The consortium will be based on an online platform; the platform is set to be administered by Crimean Federal University for the first three years. A number of courses will be offered by participating universities to African students.

Vice-Rector for Education Timirkhan Alishev notes, “The instruction is planned to be provided in Russian, English, and French languages. Of course, we are also very interested in teaching Russian language and Russian culture to African students.”

Among the courses of highest priority to be provided by KFU are languages, international relations, hydrocarbon technology, medicine, economics and finance.

The Network University’s approach will be conducive to constructing an individual learning trajectory for any applicant. This means that successful alumni can receive several diplomas of participating institutions.
