National Treasure gala concert presents the richness of ethnic cultures

The concert took place on 8 December and was one of the final events of the Year of Indigenous Languages and People’s Unity in Tatarstan.

The National Treasure Festival aims to preserve and promote the cultures and traditions of the indigenous peoples of Russia.

The contestants comprised students of high schools and higher schools of the Volga Federal District. There were several nominations – Ethnic Music Collective, Choreography, Traditional Theater, Public Speaking, Fashion, Arts and Crafts, Painting and Drawing, and Graphical Arts.

Among the winners were Salika (a dance collective from Mari State University, Republic of Mari El) and Bairam (a vocal team from Kazan Federal University). Winners also hailed from other cities of Tatarstan, such as Arsk.
