Rector Lenar Safin joins annual meeting of academics of Tatarstan on Russian Science Day

The event was held at the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences on 8 February.

Among the dignitaries were Rais (Governor) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences Myakzyum Salakhov, and Head of the Kazan Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aleksey Kalachyov.

The visitors toured a small expo of research achievements and listened to a message from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov. Myakzyum Salakhov presented a report on scientific activities in Tatarstan in 2022. In particular, it was publicized that the Republic currently has 13 thousand researchers and is 5th in Russian provincial rankings of scientific and technological development.

Governor Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is a place where utmost attention is paid to educating scientific and technological workers. He emphasized the importance of popularization of science.

Speaking about integration, the Governor said that it’s imperative to unify all clusters within a single educational and research environment.

In conclusion, Tatarstan State Awards in Science and Technology were given away; among the awardees was Dean of the Higher School of Historical Sciences and Cultural Heritage Ayrat Sitdikov.
