Tatarstan Academy of Sciences bestows professorship upon KFU employees

The Academy hosted the giveaway of diplomas to scientists awarded the title Professor of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan on 10 July. Diplomas were handed over by the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov.

The title is awarded to scientists for high scientific achievements and active participation in the creation and implementation of new knowledge, technologies and developments in the economy and social life of Tatarstan.

“I feel a certain pride that the members of the Academy of Sciences included me in one of these categories,” comments the Chief Research Associate of the Scientific and Educational Mathematical Center of the Volga Federal District of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics Marat Faizrakhmanov.

His scientific interests lie in fundamental mathematics. Faizrakhmanov was nominated in the category of mathematics, mechanics and mechanical engineering, and following the results of the competitive selection, his candidacy was supported.

“I am a representative of the scientific school of mathematical logic and computability theory, founded and headed by Academician Marat Arslanov (Chair of the Department of Algebra and Mathematical Logic). It was he who nominated me, for which I am very grateful,” he adds.

In medical and biological sciences, Yana Mukhamedshina, Lead Researcher of the Laboratory of Gene and Cell Technologies of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, participated in the competition.

“Receiving the title is, first of all, the recognition of my scientific works by the academic community, corresponding members and academicians of the Academy of Sciences. Of course, such recognition inspires further fruitful scientific activity, which should, in my opinion, lead to helping people, since my research is related to medicine,” she hopes.

Dr Mukhamedshina studies regeneration of the nervous system.

“We are engaged in the development of new cell and gene products that could both etiologically and pathogenetically influence the course of various neurological and hereditary diseases,” the scientist shares.

In chemistry and chemical technology, the title was awarded to Guzel Ziyatdinova, Professor of the Department of Analytical Chemistry.
