Cooperation agreement signed by KFU and Oil Resource

A meeting was held on 18 February.
The meeting was joined by Oil Resource CEO Semyon Garagul, Advisor to the CEO Ildar Zyabbarov, First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky, Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev, Deputy Director for Continuing Education and Industrial Partnerships of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies (IGPT) – Head of the Center for Advanced Training Ildus Chukmarov, and Chair of the Department of Petroleum Engineering Mikhail Varfolomeev.
The guests of the university were welcomed by Vice-Rector Danis Nurgaliev. He acquainted the delegation with the structure of the Institute, emphasizing its achievements in various rankings, and also spoke about the importance of strategic partnerships.
“Oil Resource is one of the newer companies in the local oil and gas industry. We decided to sign a cooperation agreement, since the company is just starting its journey, and we are very interested in working with them from the very beginning. The main focus of the company is to work for the future, which implies an emphasis on technology, especially in regard to hard-to-recover reserves. They plan to extract the oil that is currently out of reach, using advanced technologies. Our cooperation can lead to significant achievements and successes,” Nurgaliev believes.
After the official part, there was a tour of the Museum of the History of Kazan University, where the guests could get acquainted with the rich heritage, and then visited the laboratories engaged in hydrocarbon research.
Ildus Chukmarov presented the university’s expertise in continuing education.
“We created a research center that has been cooperating with Kazan Federal University for a long time. Oil Resource is actively promoting advanced technologies in the oil and gas industry, developing and patenting new inventions. The main objective is to combine all the best technologies from around the world and implement them in our country. In particular, we intend to focus on hard-to-recover reserves and implement innovative solutions. In addition, we plan to make use of the services of the Center for Advanced Training for our employees,” noted Semyon Garagul.
