Delegation of Sollers welcomed at the Institute of Engineering
The Sollers team was led by General Director of the Center for Product Development and R&D Projects Mikhail Guryanov.
Sollers is a large-scale automotive consortium uniting Ulyanovsk Automotive Plant, Zavolzhsk Motor Plant, Sollers Yelabuga LLC, and Avtomobilnye Industrialnye Tekhnologii LLC.
The guests met with Director of the Institute of Engineering Nail Kashapov on 20 February and toured the Institute’s infrastructure, including an additive printer with plasma treatment capacity, the Center for Robotic Additive Technologies, and a number of laboratories.

In the afternoon, the sides talked about cooperation opportunities.
Director Guryanov said, in particular, “In January 2023, our Center for Product Development started working at Idea Technology Park in Kazan. One of the Center’s priorities is cooperation with local educational and research institutions. We have found that KFU is successful in tackling both fundamental and applied tasks. You have a nice potential and can help us in our projects.”
Director Kashapov noted that such cooperation can be of big importance for Kazan University, “Today, innovations in prototyping and construction are especially important. Sollers can assist us in introducing our research into production. They can also partake in teaching.”

He added that one of the primary objectives for the Institute currently is automotive engine building, “We can work out a technology and design for a specific car part, and that’s our advantage. We will also involve students into joint projects with Sollers. Cooperation with other producers is also in our plans.”
The University and the company agreed to exchange detailed cooperation proposals in the nearest future.
Later in the day, the Sollers delegation also spoke with First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky.
