Higher School of Business merged into the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance; Alsu Akhmetshina appointed as Director

Rector Lenar Safin visited the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance, where he officially introduced the new director to the staff.
The previous Director of the Institute of Management, Nailya Bagautdinova, left her post at her own request upon reaching retirement age. Alsu Akhmetshina, Director of the Higher School of Business, Professor, Doctor of Science in Economics, became the new head of the structural unit.
Addressing the staff, Lenar Safin noted Dr Bagautdinova’s great contribution to the development of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance and Kazan University as a whole. He thanked her for her many years of work and presented her with a Veteran badge of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
“Nailya Gumerovna is a real legend of KFU. She stood at the origins of the Institute, and under her leadership it became one of the leading in the country in economics,” emphasized the Rector.
In her turn, Dr Bagautdinova expressed her gratitude to the management for the appreciation of her work, as well as to the staff for the joint years of well-coordinated and effective work.
Her successor Alsu Akhmetshina said that it is a great honor for her to head the institute with such a rich history, of which she herself is a part.
“For me, IMEF is the place of my studies and work. There is a lot that binds us together and I thank the Rector of the university for the trust. The Institute will take a course to train a new generation of students and improve the quality of business education. We also plan to actively develop close cooperation with industrial partners, develop new approaches and technologies in educational activities to meet modern standards,” Akhmetshina said.
