University opens teaching dentistry clinic

The event on 5 September was visited by Rais (Governor) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The clinic was established with support from the Government of Tatarstan and aims to teach dentistry students and introduce home-grown innovation. It will serve both adult and minor patients.

Accompanied by Rector Lenar Safin, the Rais toured the facilities, including the department of child dentistry and orthodontics, the department of digital dentistry, the diagnostical department, and study rooms.

Chief Medical Officer of the University Clinic Rinat Shigabutdinov noted that this new dentistry establishment is the first such facility in Russia. It has all the necessary equipment, including ergonomic chairs, microscopes, a CT scanner, a CAD-CAM system for implant production, anesthesiology equipment, and much more. There are also 24 medical simulators for studies.

The dentistry clinic can admit 14 thousand patients a year.
