Teaching Case Championship held at KFU IT Lyceum

This is a second such competition open for pedagogy students of our university.

The teams are trained by professors of the Institute of Psychology and Education and have to solve real-life cases from school life. As the educators say, the case technique is effective for teaching because of emotional involvement. This year’s focus is the use of gadgets in a school environment.

Director of IT Lyceum Ildar Mukhametov notes, “One of the missions of the IT Lyceum is to participate in the training of future teachers. We are always happy to welcome practicing students and hold such events. We believe that we have a very good team that is ready to pass on interesting pedagogical technologies. Cases for students are prepared on the basis of materials from our practical experience. For example, we have a pedagogical problem related to the use of gadgets by students. We discussed it for three hours at the pedagogical council, but did not find a single solution. This is the case we prepared and offered to students today. I think they know better than we do how to deal with this situation.”

He adds that such events serve as great motivation for future teachers.
