Participants of the International Forum on Teacher Education visited KFU’s kindergarten

The first specialized kindergarten for kids with autism spectrum disorders in Russia draws much attention from education professionals.

The initiative to open the facility was put forth by Rector Ilshat Gafurov in 2017 and supported by the provincial government.

“The kindergarten is considered a federal innovative institution,” said Principal Irina Nigmatullina to the guests. “It unites scientific interests of several structural units of KFU.”

The visitors toured playrooms, classrooms, and studied the existing equipment.

Representatives of Herzen University noted the importance of creating such a kindergarten, especially the already functioning Center for Family Consultations.

The kindergarten, officially named My Vmeste (We Are Together), is the first institution in the nation aimed at children with autism spectrum disorders. The experience amassed here will be scaled across Russia.
