Best in profession awarded during Lawyer Day ceremony

Kazan Federal University hosted the event on 2 December.

Traditionally, on such an occasion, the award ceremony of the Lawyer of the Year Award of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Gabriel Shershenevich All-Russian Law Prize took place.

Rector Lenar Safin opened the ceremony. He reminded the participants of the event that Kazan law school has always been famous in Russia and abroad.

“Students of the Faculty of Law in different years of its activity were many famous philosophers and thinkers, major scientists and practitioners who later became outstanding state and public figures. All of them are worthy representatives of the legal community of our country, which has always made a significant contribution to strengthening the foundations of statehood, to ensuring law and order and public peace, to the legal education of the population,” emphasized the Rector.

Lenar Safin noted that the professionalism of modern lawyers determines the effectiveness of protection of legitimate human rights and freedoms, the interests of civil society and the rule of law in general.

In conclusion, he expressed hope that the accumulated experience of the legal community of Tatarstan would contribute to the stable social and economic development of the country and wished further success in serving the law.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and on his own behalf, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin congratulated all lawyers on their professional holiday.

Among other laureates, Chair of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of KFU Yevgeny Sultanov received the Shershenevich Award for 2024.
