Best student science clubs of the year awarded in Emperor Ballroom

First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky and Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Moral Education Arif Mezhvedilov congratulated the winners.

Dr Tayursky noted that KFU has over 140 student science clubs counting over 3,500 students and wished them new achievements.

Vice-Rector Mezhvedilov informed that the science club movement at Kazan University dates back to the 19th century. He also said that a new meritorious title was inaugurated by KFU this year – Distinguished Mentor of Kazan University. The novelty is that it can be bestowed even on current students – should they excel at tutoring and curating their younger counteparts.

The first prize went to four clubs:

Center for Competition Preparation in Computer Programming (Institute of Computational Mathematics and IT);

Small Student Construction Bureau (Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics);

Cognomine Surgery Club (Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology);

Window to the East (Institute of International Relations).
