Ceremony held before Medical Worker Day

The professional holiday is celebrated on the third Sunday of June in Russia.

Kazan Federal University has held a solemn ceremony honoring doctors and medical staff of the university. Employees of the medical cluster of KFU received congratulations and awards for conscientious and responsible work from representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the University.

The award ceremony was held in the auditorium of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology with the participation of the Rector of Kazan University Lenar Safin.

Addressing the audience, the Rector emphasized that medicine has always been one of the priorities for the University. Combining fundamental science and clinical practice, the medical cluster of KFU today solves large-scale tasks and meets many challenges of the time.

“Our scientists develop modern methods of diagnostics and treatment. They create highly effective medicines. Doctors and nurses stand guard over our health, always coming to our aid in the most difficult moments, always showing compassion for other people’s pain,” Lenar Safin said. “Dear colleagues, medical workers and veterans of health care! I cordially congratulate you on your professional holiday. This day is called to pay tribute to the diligence and dedication of those who have devoted their lives to caring for the health and well-being of others”.

At the end of his speech the Rector announced that in honor of the holiday all medical workers of the university will receive monetary rewards.

Then he presented certificates to the young mothers of the University Clinic and wished them, as well as their babies, good health and well-being. A decision was made to previously to disburse a bonus of 100 thousand rubles to every family of a KFU employee having a baby in 2024.

Congratulations were also extended today by Leila Fazleeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Irina Smirnova, Head of the Social Policy Department of the Executive Committee of Kazan, Andrei Kiyasov, Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, and Rinat Shigabutdinov, Chief Medical Officer of the University Clinic.
