KFU won in two nominations in the All-Russian Competition of Best Practices in Self-Governance in Dormitories

More than 100 higher education institutions of the country took part in the contest.

Out of five nominations of the competition, KFU representatives won in two: “The Best Student Council of a Dormitory” (Student Council of Dormitory No. 2) and “The Best Practice in the Work with Student Families” (project manager – Head of the Department of Social Protection and Organization of Work on Social Support of Students of the Department of Youth Policy Yekaterina Senchenkova).

“Family, love, fidelity, care for relatives and friends are the main values in the life of every person. In the family the inner world, character, interests of a person are formed, love for the Motherland, diligence, respect for elders are brought up. We honor these values and transmit them to the student audience,” said Senchenkova. “It is very valuable and pleasant that the Ministry of Higher Education and Science supported our practice of working with student families in the Year of the Family in the Russian Federation! Kazan Federal University is a leader in the implementation of youth policy, and we have conquered another height, confirming our status!”

Irina Semyonova, Chair of the Student Council of Dormitory No. 2, 3rd year student of the Faculty of Law, said that the competition was held online and was perfectly organized: the organizers were constantly in touch with the participants and answered all questions promptly.

“My student council and I participated in the contest for the first time. As soon as we learned about it, we immediately started preparing materials, presentations, resumes and much more. After two weeks of hard work, we submitted an application. When we received the letter that we had made it to the finals, we were immensely happy! The finals were held online. I answered all the questions from the experts with ease. The most difficult thing was to wait for the results,” the student shared.

The contest is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation to support socially significant initiatives of student associations.
