Russian Government Award in Science and Technology in 2023 commends achievement in civil engineering

The winner from KFU is Professor of the Department of Construction and Design Projects Linar Sabitov.

The team including Professor Sabitov was awarded for the development and implementation of scientific and technological foundations of high-speed energy-efficient building systems and structures for accelerated socio-economic development of the territories of the Northern Sea Route of the Russian Federation.

“Based on many years of research, scientists from Kazan, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Rostov-on-Don have offered a set of technological solutions, obtained over 30 patents, and built 25 structures,” comments the awardee.

His research is conducted within the Laboratory of Intelligent Mobility at the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts.

Linar Sabitov explained that he was engaged in the design of multi-storey buildings and structures, such as wind turbine towers, cellular communication towers, towers of overhead power lines, which are quickly erected in extremely short time in the conditions of the Far North. In particular, new technical solutions for tower structures were developed and implemented.
