Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Moral Education receives Duslyq (Friendship) Order

Before New Year, the Kazan Kremlin hosted the presentation of state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. Rais (Governor) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov presented the Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Moral Education of Kazan Federal University Arif Mezhvedilov with the Order of Friendship.
The Vice-Rector was awarded the state award of the Republic of Tatarstan for his services in the development of the educational system and many years of fruitful work and active public activities.
“This Order is the most significant of my awards,” said Dr Mezhvedilov.
He has been working in youth policy at Kazan University and the Republic of Tatarstan for exactly 30 years, since 1994.
“First, I was the deputy chairman of the Kazan University Student Union, then the chairman, and I was elected president of the Tatarstan Student League three times. I can say that I took shape as a student leader at Kazan University and in Tatarstan,” commented the Vice-Rector.
Arif Mezhvedilov is a candidate of science in sociology (PhD), associate professor of the Department of General and Ethnic Sociology of the Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications. He constantly applies theoretical knowledge to practice.
“My dissertation is devoted to social conflicts. The area of my scientific interests is the sociology of youth, social conflicts, and the sociology of education. I am more of a practicing sociologist. In particular, I am very interested in various aspects of the youth sphere. Together with a large team of the Department of Youth Policy and our institutes, we organize many different events both within the university and at the level of the province and Russia. Our large and friendly team strives to be a flagship in its field not only in Tatarstan, but also in the Volga Federal District and in the country. KFU is the leader among local universities in youth policy and educational activities, and in Russia it is constantly ranked among the top five.”
Arif Mezhvedilov is sure: we need to see the good in young people and convey this to the entire university community.
“For me and my colleagues, youth policy and educational activities are an integral part of training a future professional,” he noted.
