President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with young scientists to celebrate Russian Science Day.

On February 7, the President visited Kazan Physical-Technical Institute (KPTI). Kazan University was represented by Senior Research Associate Kamil Khadiev (Laboratory of Quantum Methods of Data Processing) and Junior Research Associate Richard Djimasbe (Laboratory of Rheological and Thermochemical Research).

President Minnikhanov noted that a discussion is ongoing to build a special science city in Tatarstan, “We have a general idea of this. The research part will be the responsibility of academicians, and we are ready to develop infrastructure. We have a good foundation, but we need to raise gears.”

He answered a number of questions from young scientists regarding popularization of science, commercialization of research, and new tools for language learning.

Notably, all the young people invited to meet the provincial leader were winners of the Best Young Scientists of Tatarstan 2021 competition.

Richard Djimasbe, a Chadian national, is also a governmental grant winner and receives full funding coverage of his PhD course in the refining of non-traditional hydrocarbons. Kamil Khadiev has been an employee since 2008 and studies quantum algorithms for text processing and graph tasks.
