Rector Ilshat Gafurov met with Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar
The talks were held on Sunday, June 6, in Moscow.
The two interlocutors were joined by Vice-Rector of KFU for Digital Transformation and Innovation Dmitry Pashin and Chief Editor of Knizhniki Publishing House Baruch Gorin.
The sides talked about a center for Judaic studies of Kazan University. At this time, the project is in planning stages.
Berel Lazar noted that the Russian Jewish community is ready to partake actively in this endeavor. Another meeting is already being negotiated on.
Rector Gafurov also toured the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.
