Rector Lenar Safin spoke with Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov

Partnership development and new areas of cooperation were discussed.
Currently, over 12,000 foreign citizens from 101 countries are studying at the university – of which 982 are Rossotrudnichestvo’s scholarship recipients. KFU goes toe-to-toe with RUDN University for the biggest number of international students among Russian universities.
“This indicates the high export potential of the university and the significant interest of foreign citizens in studying at KFU. Thanks to our active interaction with representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo and Russian centers of science and culture in target regions and countries, the numbers of applications submitted by applicants using Rossotrudnichestvo electronic systems are growing annually,” said the Rector.
Lenar Safin emphasized that KFU is determined to further develop scientific, educational, cultural, youth events and projects that will help promote the Russian language and culture among students.
Yevgeny Primakov suggested drawing up a specific plan for joint events that would be most useful, first of all, to the University. The parties discussed possible options and projects in which Rossotrudnichestvo can involve the university and provide all possible support, including financial aid. Dr Primakov assured that all representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo in various countries are ready to act as platforms for the implementation of any projects for KFU, as well as other Russian universities.
The federal agency has about 100 representative offices in 80 countries. And all their activities are aimed at implementing the state policy of international humanitarian cooperation. Rossotrudnichestvo develops and implements, together with other departments, assistance programs for the Commonwealth of Independent States countries, develops federal target programs, and participates in the selection of foreign students to Russian universities.
In its activities, Rossotrudnichestvo promotes the maintenance and development of international contacts of Russian regions in the scientific, technical, cultural, economic and educational fields.
