Working session of Roscosmos, Russia’s national space agency, joined by Rector Lenar Safin and First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky

The session was held in Moscow on 15 February.

General Director of Roscosmos Yury Borisov addressed the academic community and invited them to submit proposals on the development of the space industry before 15 March.

Among the most pertinent questions is the qualitative growth of manned spaceflight, including space stations and space technology development. The agency aims to increase the effectiveness of manned programs and the intensity of experimental activity in space.

Another area is prospective technology for far space exploration. Some of the components here are robotics, artificial intelligence, medical infrastructure, radiation protection, new engines, planetary rovers, and much more.

“We have to choose the right path. What experiments we must conduct and for what purposes in order to increase the fruitfulness of research and public funding,” emphasized Borisov. He noted that the main priority is a planned Russian orbital station.

Kazan Federal University was among the institutions which offered their views on manned spaceflight programs.
