Cooperation agreement signed with Uralchem Innovation

Rector Lenar Safin took part in the opening of the 18th Russian Venture Forum – the main event of the venture capital industry in Russia.

The event is held at the Kazan Expo with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and includes a number of panel discussions and plenary sessions divided into three main thematic blocks, mainly devoted to the issues of technological entrepreneurship, venture investments, and discussions of market prospects.

The Forum also includes an exhibition of technological solutions from various Russian companies. The projects demonstrate import substitution opportunities: from heavy and light industry to cooking, design and medicine.

Kazan University also presented its developments with practical application at the exhibition. Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Governor) of Tatarstan, familiarized himself with them in detail.

The KFU Catalyst Factory demonstrated samples of pilot batches of catalysts for petrochemical processes of specialized enterprises. The production will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2023 at the KFU site in the village of Stolbishche, and 24 tons of catalysts have already been produced for SIBUR. Another 10 types of catalysts have undergone pilot testing and will be introduced into production in the near future.

In addition to catalysts, samples of film materials and filaments for 3D printing from superconstructive polymers and composites developed by the employees of the Laboratory of Synthetic Polymer Materials and Composites. The pilot production will be launched in the second quarter of 2024.

At the end of the tour, the signing of the cooperation agreement between KFU and Uralchem Innovation took place. The document was signed by Rector Lenar Safin and General Director of the company Anna Nenakhova.

This step will serve to establish long-term partnership relations and implement joint activities aimed at testing, selection and development of specialized low-tonnage chemistry products, as well as the development of other promising areas for the needs of Uralchem enterprises.
