Memorandum of understanding signed by KFU’s Higher School of Public Administration and International Institute of Public Policy and Management (University of Malaya)

The signatories were the departments’ respective heads Igor Privalov and Anis Yusal Yusoff.
The document was signed during the round table Russia – Malaysia: Economic Aspects of Regional Cooperation organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia as part of Russia – Islamic World KazanForum 2024. Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev contributed to it.
“Malaysia is one of those countries that are very actively developing. Today, about 850 people from Malaysia are studying at Russian universities. In KFU, unfortunately, there are not very many representatives of this country. We want to change this situation,” said the Vice-Rector on the sidelines of the event. “In October, our delegation visited Malaysia, signed a number of agreements and reached certain arrangements. Today we signed an agreement with the University of Malaya. The first project will be an internship at this university set to take place in August. It will be organized by KFU together with the Government of Tatarstan.”
The Memorandum covers development and implementation of joint educational and scientific programs; sending students, teachers and researchers to the partner university for training, professional development and improvement of scientific and educational activities; conducting joint scientific research in education; joint implementation of innovative activities; participation in the network form of implementation of educational programs; joint educational and research projects, as well as holding congresses, conferences and other events.
Dr Privalov noted after the ceremony that the agreement with the University of Malaya on the implementation of joint projects, in particular the organization of educational internships for state and municipal employees of the Republic of Tatarstan, was reached back in October 2023 during the visit to Malaysia.
“We are ready for mutual cooperation. We are waiting for Tatarstanis at the University of Malaya and are ready to send representatives of our university here. It is important to learn from different people in different countries, and to notice not only successes, but also failures, because it can warn against making your own mistakes,” Anis Yusal Yusoff shared.
