Minister of Education & CW at the Embassy of India in Moscow visited KFU

He was welcomed by Rector Lenar Safin on 19 December.

Mr V. Kumar noted the great contribution KFU is making to peoples’ friendship and educational cooperation with other countries, including the Republic of India (Bharat). He mentioned that BRICS is currently a format for effective interactions.

The Rector said that KFU is cognizant of the interest that Indian partners have in expanding cooperation.

“KFU has always supported Indian studies. Russia’s school of Indian studies originated here in the 19th century. Today, such research is conducted at the Department of Arabic Studies, Islamic Studies & African and Asian Studies. There is also the Center for Indian Studies supported by the Embassy of India in Russia,” he noted.

The sides then signed a memorandum of understanding.

KFU will develop joint courses with Indian universities. The University also plans to attract more native Hindi speakers to teach the language.
