Rector Lenar Safin discusses cooperation with General Director of Minsk Tractor Plant Sergey Avramenko

Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Innovation Dmitry Pashin, Director of the Institute of AI, Robotics and System Engineering Dmity Chikrin, Deputy Director for Marketing of MTP in the Commonwealth of Independent States Mikhail Vardugin, and General Director of MTZ-Tatarstan Almaz Akhmetov joined the talks.
KFU and MTZ have agreed to cooperation within the framework of import substitution programs of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. KFU researchers work on automation and AI tasks in agricultural machinery together with MTZ.
The KFU team has developed a universal computing complex for tractor automation and a small-scale driverless tractor, as well as determined the principles of automation of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic parts of heavy tractors. Driverless internal combustion engine-based tractors and their software are being tested for further production.
The two executives decided to open a digital agricultural testing ground for driverless vehicles and precision agriculture.
