Rector Lenar Safin meets with Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Kazan Erik Beishembiev

The talks were held on 13 February.
The Rector noted that Kyrgyz Republic is an important partner in the Central Asia, “We pay great attention to the development of this interaction within the framework of the new academic leadership strategy Priority 2030. In partnership with our Kyrgyz colleagues, we develop joint educational programs, train highly qualified teaching staff. And, of course, we are interested in attracting talented Kyrgyz youth to study at Tatarstan’s universities.”
He emphasized that the opening of the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Kazan in 2023 was an impetus to the cooperation between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan. Further work on sizable projects will strengthen the partnership and friendly ties between peoples, he added.
KFU currently has over 20 agreements with educational and research organizations of the Central Asian republic.
In particular, one such project is the Preservation of Ethnic Identity of Tatar People and the Silk Road, handled together with the Institute of Archeology and History of the Kyrgyzstan Academy of Sciences. There is also a branch of Qayum Nasyri Institute, an institution promoting Tatar language and culture, in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic’s capital.
Furthermore, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University is a partner in summer schools on international human rights law.
