Supercomputer modeling and engineering analysis discussed with Rosatom and Russian Federal Nuclear Center

Rector of Kazan Federal University Lenar Safin held a meeting with Oleg Shubin, First Deputy Director General of Rosatom State Corporation.

The meeting was also joned by a delegation from the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-ARRIEP) headed by Director Valentin Kostyukov.

The parties discussed issues related to the introduction of advanced Russian technologies of supercomputer modeling and engineering analysis into the working processes of high-tech industries of the Republic of Tatarstan. In particular, domestic platforms were considered for these purposes, currently being tested on the production tasks of KAMAZ, the nation’s largest truck producer.

The joint pilot project with KFU and RFNC-ARRIEP involves the application of digital testing technology for the automotive industry on the basis of the Naberezhnye Chelny Institute and includes the development of a specialized software module for calculation models.

Digital technologies of mathematical modeling today are an effective tool for designing high-tech industrial products. They allow reducing the number of full-scale experiments, as well as the cost and time of development.

In this project Kazan Federal University is also entrusted to train staff in engineering analysis and mathematical modeling at the University’s specialized center.

Among other things, KFU experts were offered to join the development of calculation codes for fuel and energy technologies, taking into account the University’s standing in the oil and gas industry.

In their turn, RFNC representatives voiced the idea of developing and implementing joint educational programs for theoretical physicists and mathematicians.
