Three students commended during Kind Tatarstan award ceremony
The event was held in Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism (VSUPCST) on 16 December.
Kind Tatarstan, previously known as Volunteer of the Year, was conducted in 4 stages and 18 nominations. Over 270 submissions were made from all the 45 municipal districts of Tatarstan.
The three winners from KFU are:
Nikita Vikherev – Volunteer of the Year in Disaster Response;
Galiya Zinnatullina – Volunteer of the Year in Event Management;
Nailya Takhavieva – Volunteer of the Year in Civic Consciousness and Patriotism.
Nikita Vikherev comments, “I think this achievement is a win for our big team because we work back to back everywhere and always. I am endlessly grateful to my collective for their trust and support and to our educators at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology for the knowledge and skills – without them I wouldn’t be able to provide real quality help to those who need it.”
The ceremony was accompanied by a hallway expo, where, in particular, KFU students conducted a master class in first aid. Notably, the University’s Medical Simulation Center currently offers free first aid courses to the public. The course completers have already partaken in disaster relief in various provinces of Russia.
