University employees receive State Prize of Tatarstan in Science and Technology

The ceremony was held today, on Russian Science Day, in Kazan Kremlin.

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov noted, “It’s important that results of intellectual efforts not be left on paper. We need the economic environment to commercialize them. We have huge plans to create a world-level campus and engineering teams, to further support technological entrepreneurship, and much more.”

This time, 29 people received the awards, among them KFU employees – Chair of the Department of Radio Physics Oleg Sherstyukov, Chair of the Department of Radio Astronomy Adel Akchurin, Professor of the Department of Radio Physics Arkady Karpov, Associate Professor of the Department of Radio Electronics Igor Nasyrov, Associate Professor of the Department of Radio Physics Amir Sulimov, Professor of the Department of Radio Astronomy German Teptin, and Professor of the Department of Radio Astronomy Olga Khutorova.

The award is given for the publication cycle “Meteor and ionosphere spread of radio waves and wave processes in the atmosphere.” The cycle is dedicated to studying all atmosphere layers. The publications contain a number of fundamental dependencies important for the modeling of space, atmosphere, and ionosphere, prototypes of high-precision complexes of communication, synchronization and radio sensing, and new technologies of high-security cryptographic communications for distances up to 2,000 kilometers.
