University toured by President of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum Taha Ayhan
Mr. Ayhan arrived to discuss Kazan’s preparations to become the youth capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in 2022.
Vice-Rector Timirkhan Alishev welcomed the guests and briefly introduced the city and the university. He mentioned that about 40% of Kazan’s population are under 30 years of age.
KFU is currently a home for students from over 100 countries. There are many programs and events dedicated to Islam and Islamic studies. Islamica Resource Center is a large research entity engaged in this subject.
Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Timur Suleymanov noted that Kazan prevailed over tough competition to become the OIC youth capital. He is convinced that this provides more opportunities for youth development.
Taha Ayhan expressed his joy for the fact that Kazan was chosen to represent the OIC this year.
