Young scientists receive Arbuzov Prize in Fundamental and Applied Chemistry

The ceremony took place on 23 December.

The Arbuzov Prize is one of the most storied awards for young scientists in Tatarstan – it was established in 2004. The competition is co-organized by the Comittee for Youth Affairs of the Municipal Administration of Kazan, Kazan Federal University, Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, Mendeleev Society of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Council of Young Scientists and Professionals of Kazan.

The event was visited by Chairman of the Committee for Youth Affairs of Kazan Mintimer Nugmanov, Director of the KFU Institute of Chemistry Marat Ziganshin, and others.

Three young scholars from KFU are among the laureates: Lecturer of the Department of Analytical Chemistry Yuliya Leksina, Project Engineer of the Laboratory of Organic Compounds Alan Akhmedov, and Project Engineer of the Laboratory of Physico-Chemical Research Timur Magsumov.

The award money amount to 80 thousand rubles, which are distributed among the three prize winners. An applicant must be under 35 years of age to submit their candidacy. All universities and research institutions of Kazan have the right to submit works for consideration.
