China-Russia University of High Technology project presented in Xi’an, China



The Great Silk Road 2024 – Cooperation between Industry, Universities and Scientific Organizations conference was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. Kazan Federal University was represented by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev.
The conference is aimed at discussion and formation of new approaches in scientific and educational cooperation between China, Russia, Iran, and Central Asian countries.
Albert Gilmutdinov, Aide to the Rais (Governor) of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, took part in the plenary session of the event. The reports presented the activities of Kazan Federal University in the region, as well as proposed a new project of the CRUHT. It plans to implement a wide range of educational programs between Russian and Chinese universities in a network format. Individual negotiations with universities in Shaanxi Province followed.
In addition, there was a separate meeting with Xi’an Petroleum University. It should be noted that KFU has been working with this Chinese university for quite a long time in Russian language teaching. University students arrive to the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication for language practices. This year 31 students arrived from Xi’an for a 9-month program. XPU students also joined our Summer University project.
Cooperation in petroleum science was also discussed. Shaanxi has the largest proven oil reserves among China’s provinces, so prospects for relevant projects are numerous.
