Delegation of Allameh Tabataba’i University welcomed in Kazan
Rector of Kazan Federal University Lenar Safin met with the delegation of Allameh Tabataba’i University (Islamic Republic of Iran), headed by President Abdollah Motamedi.
The meeting took place as part of the XV International Economic Forum Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum at Kazan Expo. The event was also attended by Rail Fakhrutdinov, Acting Director of the Institute of International Relations of KFU, and Mahdi Vahedi, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of ATU.
They discussed issues of further cooperation in science and education.
Lenar Safin noted that Russia, and the Republic of Tatarstan in particular, has traditionally had strong friendly ties with Muslim countries. Fruitful cooperation is carried out in various areas, including education and science. Here, higher educational institutions and scientific centers of both countries are doing a great job.
“Iran is an important partner for Kazan Federal University,” emphasized Dr Safin. “Specifically, academic mobility of students, teachers, joint scientific research is effectively carried out with Allameh Tabataba’i University. I am sure we should not stop at what we have achieved. By joint efforts we can strengthen our partnership and develop new promising directions for both universities.”
The KFU Rector also reminded about the implementation of the a project – the opening of the Center for Testing and Expertise in Russian as a Foreign Language of Kazan University at ATU. This event, according to him, was an important milestone in the development of cooperation.
President Abdollah Motamedi, in turn, highly appreciated the quality of education that Kazan University provides to its students. He said that students from Iran, about 1,400 of whom study at one of the leading universities of Russia, confirm that the level of teaching meets their requirements. The head of Allameh Tabataba’i University also expressed hope for the expansion of partnership and readiness to share experience in terms of implementation of academic mobility programs with other foreign universities and interaction with the economy.
