Delegation of Karakalpakstan welcomed at KFU
Kazan Federal University received a delegation from the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Republic of Uzbekistan) headed by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Bairam Utemuratov. At the meeting on 3 May, the parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation in science and education.
KFU was represented at the meeting by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Deputy Director for International Activities of the Institute of Psychology and Education Tatyana Baklashova. Andrei Fedorov, Head of the Department of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Bulat Yarullin, Head of the Department of International Educational Programs and Projects of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan were also present.
In addition to Bairam Utemuratov, the delegation included – Minister of Sports of Karakalpakstan Adil Allanazarov, Head of the Territorial Sector for Karakalpakstan of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Timur Baekeev, Director of Data Live Center LLC Kuanysh Seitnazarov, as well as Director of the Nukus Branch of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports Bairam Yerimbetov, Director of the Nukus Branch of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan Amanzhol Ayapov, Manager of the Karakalpakstan Branch of the IT-Park Atabek Kalmuratov.
“We met with you in this hall exactly two years ago – it was 2022, just ahead of the International Forum on Teacher Education. At that time we agreed on plans for 2023, many of which have been put to life. You have seen that Kazan Federal University fulfills its obligations, so today we are also ready to discuss new issues,” Timirkhan Alishev said at the beginning of the meeting.
Then the Vice-Rector presented the university to the guests. Speaking about the achievements, Alishev especially emphasized KFU’s high positions in QS World University Rankings. Now, he noted, the University is ranked 38th in the world in Petroleum Engineering and 89th in Education.
“The Institute of Psychology and Education cooperates with Nukus State Pedagogical Institute – these are joint research projects, publications of foreign monographs, holding conference platforms and internship programs,” Dr Baklashova commented.
The issue of developing a joint program for training and multilingual teachers was discussed separately. For Karakalpakstan, as well as for Tatarstan, this issue is relevant, Utemuratov told the Vice-Rector. Alishev, in turn, suggested organizing a round table or seminar on the relevant subject.
A master’s program in Psychology of Children’s and Youth Sports is being implemented in at KFU’s IPE, and the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan promised to take the strengthening of ties in this matter under his personal control.
In conclusion, the delegation thanked Kazan University for warm reception, after which the parties exchanged memorable gifts.
