KFU scientists visit Guangdong to promote medical cooperation




Lead Research Associate of the Laboratory Igor Lavrov and PhD student of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology Airat Zamaliev visited China thanks to the CAS PIFI program (Chinese Academy of Sciences President’s International Fellowship Initiative), which is aimed at the development of scientific cooperation and promotion of scientific communications around the world.
The hosts were represented by Professor Wang Ling of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Drs. Zhou Xianghu and Hao Tian of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University; they introduced the guests from Kazan University to the activities of the institutions and conducted tours of the institutes and the clinic.
“Our reports were devoted to innovative methods and ways of rehabilitation and recovery of patients with spinal cord injury and joint disease,” Zamaliev shared.
The meeting ended with the signing of an agreement on cooperation and collaboration in the development of research and clinical programs, advanced training programs for medical professionals in neural modulation, neural trauma, spinal cord injury, neural rehabilitation, and joint disease.
“The agreement is the first step towards establishing relationships and creating joint projects, an opportunity to sign a memorandum on academic exchange with colleagues from China,” Zamaliev added.
