KFU welcomes guests from Jiangxi Province


The delegation, headed by Mr. Gu Qing, Vice Chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Conference of Jiangxi Province of China, visited Kazan Federal University on 24 September.
The meeting was joined by Fu Zhaoliang, Director of the General Department of the People’s Political Consultative Conference of Jiangxi Province, Lan Wensheng, Second Level Inspector of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, and Hu Zhijian, Head of the Department of the State Assets Supervision and Management Commission of Jiangxi Province, and others.
In the History Museum, the delegation was familiarized with the exhibits of the museum, told about the key stages of formation and development of the university, scientific developments, and notable personalities.
The guests were accompanied by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev. Welcoming the delegates, he noted that in November this year Kazan University will celebrate its 220th anniversary. Then the Vice-Rector spoke in detail about the structure of the university and its tasks, as well as the Priority 2030 strategic program.
Dr Alishev noted that of the 12,000 international students, 2,100 are Chinese nationals, of which 122 are in PhD programs.
“Together with Chinese universities we work in oil and gas technologies, medicine, IT and artificial intelligence, language teaching,” shared the Vice-Rector.
Confucius Institute has been working at KFU for 17 years. About 1,000 students currently study Chinese language at the University.
