Memorandum of understanding signed with Urgench State Pedagogical Institute
An Uzbekistani delegation visited KFU on 3 April.
The event was joined by Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Olga Vershinina, Director of the International Office, Tatyana Baklashova, Deputy Director for International Affairs of the Institute of Psychology and Education, and Almaz Galimov, Deputy Director for Educational Activities, Head of the Department of Methodology of Teaching and Education of said Institute.
The delegation of Urgench State Pedagogical Institute included Umarbek Sheripov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Diana Yakubova, Lecturer of the Preschool Education Methodology Department, Uktam Matnazarov, Chair of the Physical Education Department, Gulnora Khalmatova, Lecturer of the Uzbek and Russian Literature Department, and Azizbek Rakhimov, Lecturer of the National Idea and Philosophy Department.
Welcoming the visitors, Dr Alishev noted that KFU actively cooperates with more than 60 scientific and educational organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The main form of interaction is the development and implementation of joint educational programs in various areas of training.
“We are glad that Urgench Pedagogical Institute joins this big family. Kazan University probably has the most large-scale relations with Uzbek universities among Russian universities,” he noted.
Umarbek Sheripov expressed hope for active interaction with Kazan University.
“Thank you for supporting our initiative on cooperation. You have great experience in educational training, which is very important to us,” he said.
The purpose of the signed memorandum is to develop international cooperation and strengthen ties between KFU and Urgench State Pedagogical Institute in education and science.
The interaction involves the development and implementation of joint educational and scientific programs, internships for students and staff, joint scientific research, innovation activities, as well as the implementation of international educational, research and scientific projects, organization of congresses, symposiums, conferences, seminars, exchange of educational and scientific literature.
“We plan to cooperate with Kazan Federal University in pedagogical training. Our institute is young, as it was founded in 2022 on the basis of the Pedagogical Institute of Urgench State University in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” Dr Sheripov informed. “Kazan University is one of the leading universities in the world in teacher education. I think we will benefit from cooperation with KFU in the training of teachers and improving their qualifications. In addition, we plan joint training of students and joint scientific activities.”
