Memorandums signed with Siyah Kuala University and Malikussaleh University




A delegation from the Province of Aceh, Republic of Indonesia, was headed by Wali Nanggroe Aceh – Teungku Malik Mahmud Al-Haythar (Sultan).
Danis Nurgaliev, Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences of KFU, Marwan, Rector of Siyah Kuala University, and Herman Fithra, Rector of Malikussaleh University, signed the memorandums.
The delegation also included: Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia Berlian Helmy, Interim Attaché for Education of the Embassy of Indonesia in Moscow Nanag Fadillah, Rector of Teuku Umar University Ishak Hasan, as well as vice-rectors, heads of departments, and volunteers of higher education institutions.
Kazan Federal University was represented by Riyaz Minzaripov, President of KFU, Olga Vershinina, Director of the International Office, Andrei Kiyasov, Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology (IFMB), and Irina Maximova, Deputy Director for Development of the Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems (IITIS).
Traditionally, the guests of honor were given a tour of the History Museum and the Lenin Memorial Classroom. Indonesian students also took part in the tour. 65 Indonesian nationals currently study at KFU.
During the official part of the meeting, Dr Nurgaliev spoke about Kazan Federal University, as well as introduced the guests to the capital of Tatarstan and its historical sights. In addition, he mentioned the XV International Economic Forum Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum, of which the University was one of the major contributors.
In turn, Sultan Malik Mahmud Al-Khaythar expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and expressed his hope for fruitful cooperation.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured IITIS and IFMB.
