Talks held between First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky and Director of the Center of International Scientific Research and Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran Masoud Sadrinasab




The meeting took place at KFU on 16 May.
“Last year, during a visit of our delegation to Iran, which was headed by the Rector, a memorandum of understanding between the Center and KFU was signed. We announced a competition for the best joint scientific Russian-Iranian project – the Farabi Grant. On April 23, five best applications were selected. The winners will be announced tomorrow at the KazanForum,” said Dr Tayursky.
During the meeting the sides talked about the Farabi Grant which aims to support scientific research, develop international cooperation in scientific research, and create conditions for the implementation of joint Russian-Iranian scientific projects. In addition, Dmitry Tayursky and Masoud Sadri Nasab supported the idea of continuing the joint competition for Russian-Iranian projects next year and discussed the prospects of cooperation in other areas.
The Vice-Rector proposed to organize a joint summer mathematics school for talented students from Iran and Russia. In addition, he invited Masoud Sadri Nasab and Iranian colleagues to participate in the celebration of the Mathematics Day on December 1 – the official professional holiday for mathematicians in Russia set on Nikolay Lobachevsky’s birthday.
During the meeting, Masoud Sadri Nasab presented the activities of the Center for International Scientific Research and Cooperation.
