Talks held between Rector Lenar Safin and Ambassador of Russia to Iran Alexey Dedov

Rector Lenar Safin continues his meetings in Iran.

The sides discussed educational and infrastructural links between the two nations’ universities.

Lenar Safin presented KFU’s priorities, including petroleum science and automotive production – the two spheres where bilateral contacts have already been very intense. Universities can provide necessary support in relevant developments, said the Rector.

Also of interest to the participants of the meeting was a recent agreement to build Resht – Astara railroad, a crucial link in the North – South corridor connecting Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, and India. The projects will create 40 thousand jobs, and their professional training is an important issue. KFU plans to provide specific educational tracks for this purpose, and the Embassy is eager to assist in implementing the University’s projects in Iran.
