The Evolving Pakistan-Russia Relationship in a Changing Global Order conference held in Karachi, Pakistan

It is organized by Kazan Federal University jointly with the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) on 18 – 19 February.

As part of the plenary session, the Vice-Rector of the Federal Urdu University Zabta Khan Shinwari made a report, noting the importance of developing bilateral relations, especially in education and science.

Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of KFU, in turn, spoke about the current academic ties between Russian and Pakistani universities. He specifically noted the dialogue platforms that are being developed for interaction between the two countries.

Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, and Muhammad Khalid Jamali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, sent their video greetings to the conference participants.

The Consul General of Russia in Karachi Andrey Fyodorov reviewed the history and prospects for the development of relations between the two countries.

Over the course of two days, 25 sections will work, with over 100 researchers in international relations, political science, economics, and security issues taking part. Experts from the Institute of International Relations, History, and Eastern Studies will also present their contributions: Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations, World Politics, and Diplomacy Rustem Chanyshev and Associate Professor of the Department of Altaic, Turkic, and Central Asian Studies Ilsur Nafikov.

Earlier, a dialogue between Timirkhan Alishev and the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev took place in Islamabad. He supported the idea of ​​holding the conference and noted KFU’s contribution to the development of academic exchange with Pakistan.

The Vice-Rector also met with the representatives of the National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan, one of the country’s top classical universities, with which the prospects for developing bilateral relations and joint participation in scientific and educational projects were discussed.
