University visited by International Peace Exchange Foundation delegation

The Chinese guests arrived on 22 December.

The team comprised IPEF Eurasian Commissioner Liu Xinuo, Consul of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Qin Songmao, Attaché of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Xie Siqi, and translator Lü Jinyu. They were accompanied by Lead Specialist of the Section for Coordination of Investment Attraction of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Karina Fattakhova.

They toured KFU’s History Museum, Emperor Ballroom, and Lenin Memorial Classroom, after which Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev presented the University’s current priorities and developments.

“There are currently 42 thousand Chinese students in Russia, of which 2 thousand are KFU students,” he noted.

Among the discussed topics were student recruitment, dorm construction in Kazan, and network preparatory programs in China.

Liu Xinuo reacted, “There are many young people in China who’d like to study arts or nursing in Russia.”

The Vice-Rector said that KFU is always interested in talented and motivated individuals. Just this year, it received over 3 thousand applications from China.

In conclusion, the sides exchanged gifts and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation.
