Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev’s visit to China wrapped up

He spent last week in the country.

Earlier, we informed about Dr Alishev’s meetings in Guangzhou.

The prospects of opening a joint master’s program in quantum computing in 2025 were discussed at Shenzhen University. An agreement with it was first signed back in 2016.

Meetings were also held with universities of Hubei Province. Timirkhan Alishev made a presentation about KFU and the organization of pedagogical education in Russia within the framework of the symposium on cooperation between universities of Russia and China in humanitarian education, which was organized at Central China Normal University.

Agreements were reached with Wuhan University, which is among the top 10 in China, to exchange students within the framework of summer schools later this year. A memorandum of understanding was also signed with Hubei University.

A meeting was held in Beijing with the President of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) Liu Limin.

Last October, KFU took part in an educational exhibition and conference organized by CEAIE. During the visit, the prospects of cooperation for the coming period were discussed.

Negotiations were also held with Peking University in connection with the forthcoming signing of an agreement with this university in Moscow, and the prospects for the implementation of joint projects were discussed.

A meeting was held with the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. A memorandum of understanding was signed with this university in Kazan last December. Now the sides discussed KFU’s upcoming contribution to the organization of a conference on cooperation between Russia and China, (which will be held in Guangzhou this year), as well as student exchange and the opening of mirror research centers of Russia and China at the two universities.

In addition, a meeting was held with Hunan Normal University – KFU’s partner at the latter’s Confucius Institute. They discussed the development of a joint master’s program on Chinese as a foreign language, as well as full scholarship support for students of this program from the Chinese side.
