University street space beautification inspected by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Rector Lenar Safin

This year, as part of preparations for the BRICS summit and the celebration of the 220th anniversary of KFU, a new public garden behind the Lobachevsky Library and landscaping of the area in front of the Main Building are planned.
On 11 July, Mayor Ilsur Metshin visited the university and viewed the projects during a field meeting.
A public space will appear behind the library for recreation of students, teachers, residents and guests of the city. Small architectural forms will be installed here, paving stones will be laid. The Mayor suggested planting additional shrubs and ornamental trees in the new public garden, as well as decorating the space with hedges.
Repairs are also planned on the ‘Frying Pan’, a popular gathering space in front of the Main Building marked by a monument to a young Vladimir Lenin. The pedestrian slabs and paving stones will be replaced here, and the steps will be leveled. Next to the Pan, work will be carried out to repair the road.
