The standard curriculum disciplines in Mathematics, Computer Science (Algebra, Geometry, Mathematical Analysis, Programming), as well as teacher training disciplines are supplemented with specialized courses: 1) of a natural-science character and covering topical areas of science and technology, including: “Qualitative Analysis of Dynamic System”, “Introduction to Astronomy”, “Mathematical Modelling in Astronomy and Cosmology”, “Neural Network Modeling”, “Computer Modelling In Machine Learning”, “Mathematical Modelling In Computer Mathematical Systems”, “Elements of Financial Mathematics”, “Computer 3D-modelling”, “Computer Graphics and Design”, “Intelligent Programming using Python libraries”, “Web-programming”, “Object Oriented Programming”, “Visual Programming”, “Concepts of Modern Natural Science” 2) courses relating to modern psychological and pedagogical technologies in teaching mathematics and computer science, as well as usage of computer technology in education, including those related to methodology of teaching mathematics and computer science, including: “Research-project in Mathematics”, “Robotics in Extracurricular Activities”, “Use of Computer Modeling in Education”, “Psychological Basis of Teaching Mathematics”, “Development of Applications for Mobile Devices in Education”, “Distance Learning Methodology”, “Development of Educational Websites”, “Modern Systems of Mathematical Education”. Computer technologies and mathematical packages such as Maple, GeoGebra, Python, C++ are used during the study. Mathematical text editors (Tex and MathML) are being studied. Students are engaged in research work, participate in scientific conferences, actively cooperate with innovative lyceums and schools in Kazan, where they have psychological and pedagogical and research practice. |
Career prospects | Graduates are highly demanded in General Educational and Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan and other cities of Russia. Every year the number of openings for mathematics and computer science teachers increases. A lot of our graduates work as Math and Informatics teachers (both in Russia and abroad). Some of our graduates work as Programmers and Managers. Also, graduates work in the Administration Management and Education Managements systems, for example as Head of a school. After finishing bachelor’s degree graduates can continue their studies in Master’s degree programs. |
