KFU hosting 28th All-Russian Library Congress

Kazan has been chosen as the Library Capital of Russia 2024 and the venue of the All-Russian Library Congress.

Kazan is hosting the Congress for the first time, and it comprises over 1,500 delegates, 80 of whom are representatives of 12 overseas countries.. The key theme of the international library forum is The Library in a Multipolar World.

Over 60 sessions and events are hosted at 30 locations in Tatarstan – libraries, museums and universities. One of the key venues is Kazan Federal University, which will organize three sessions. One of them was a meeting of university libraries, held at KFU’s Board of Trustees Room on 21 May.

“The Lobachevsky Scientific Library is the main information and library center of the Volga region, and to discuss such issues as technology development, electronic resources and organization of work with users, more than 150 representatives of higher education libraries gathered at the Panel Panorama”, said Deputy Director of the Lobachevsky Library Elmira Amerkhanova.

At the panel session, contributions were made by representatives of KFU, Siberian Federal University, Tomsk State University, Russian State Library, and others.
