World-Class Research Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons

As part of the National Project in Science, Kazan Federal University became one of the co-founders of the World-Class Research Center for the Rational Utilization of Global Liquid Hydrocarbon Reserves in 2020. The Center is headquartered at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies. The three other partners in the consortium are:

Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology;
Ufa State Petroleum Technological University;
National University of Oil and Gas “Gubkin University” (Gubkin University).

The main objective is to provide the domestic market with cost-saving and eco-friendly technologies of oil production for non-shale and non-traditional reserves.
